How fees work

Flat for hosts, nothing for guests.

What do guests pay?

The host's price. There's no service fee, and we never add a markup.

What do hosts pay?

$100 a month per published home: you pick how many homes your plan covers. Importing, editing, calendar sync and previews are free; you subscribe when you're ready to publish.

Is there a fee per booking?

Not if you connect your own Stripe account: guests pay it directly and you keep the whole booking price. If you'd rather not run a Stripe account, HomeShared payments handles it for a flat 5% of each booking, taken from your payout.

How is that different from Airbnb?

Airbnb now takes about 15.5% from each booking. On a $3,000 month of bookings that's about $465. Here it's $100, however much you book.

Can I open an Airbnb link here?

Yes: swap airbnb.com for homeshared.app. airbnb.com/rooms/12345 becomes homeshared.app/rooms/12345. If that host has brought their listing over, you'll see it with our prices. If not, you can ask for it.

How does the one-step import work?

On Airbnb, open your listing's calendar settings and copy the export link (Availability → Connect calendars → Export). Paste it with your nightly price. Only you can see that link, so it proves the listing is yours. We copy your title, photos, description and amenities from your public listing page and start syncing your calendar.

How do calendars stay in sync?

We re-read your Airbnb calendar regularly, and again right before anyone books. To block your Airbnb dates when someone books here, paste your HomeShared calendar link into Airbnb's "Import calendar". You'll find it in your listing editor. Airbnb refreshes imported calendars every few hours, so check new bookings promptly.

Can I cancel?

Guests can cancel free until check-in day for a full refund. Hosts can cancel their plan anytime.

Service animals

Service animals aren't pets: they're welcome in every home, they don't count toward a listing's pet limit, and hosts can't charge pet fees for them. Hosts may ask whether an animal is required because of a disability and what task it's trained to perform, but not for documentation. Emotional support animals aren't service animals under this policy, so if you're traveling with one, add it as a pet and message the host before booking.
