Room "H" in Marjesira on Vashon

Room "H" has a single bed, small and cozy, with a view out over porch, garden and Quartermaster Harbor. The space On the waterfront of outer quartermaster harbor, and built before there were roads on the island Marjesira was once an inn, general store, post office, and one of the Mosquito Fleet steamships stops. Now its main access is a short shell strewn trail past the garden, and a flight of 63 stairs (please take note of this if stairs are a challenge for you). To come down the trail, stairs, and walk through the doors of Marjesira, is to step back in time. Over a hundred years old, it maintains a charm and rustic elegance in a craftsman style. You will see the remnants of a time before; fixtures from the gas settling lamps still adorn the walls. Its east facing covered porch is a favorite place to watch the birds, otters, or the early morning sunlight dancing on the water. The top of Mt Rainer peeks up over Maury Island on the other side of the harbor. The two bathrooms are shared by the quests (one has a large claw-foot tub, the other a shower.) The old floors are creaky, and the walls are thin: so light sleepers may find it challenging dependent on the other guests staying at the time. Located about a mile south of Burton, 4 miles North of the Tahlequah Ferry, 5 miles south of Vashon town, 10 miles South of the North end ferry to Fauntleroy and Southworth, Marjesira is on the 118-bus line.
