Decorated for Christmas! Picture twelve of your favorite people together in peaceful Wears Valley, surrounded by Smoky Mountain views. Someone’s in the hot tub on a crisp December night. Someone’s racking up wins on 400+ arcade games. Someone’s curled up by the fireplace near the glowing tree. The tree is lit before you arrive, so just bring the presents. The national park is minutes away and Pigeon Forge’s holiday lights an easy drive. Welcome to Woodland Respite. The space Woodland Respite is two homes on one quiet, wooded property—a main house and a separate guest house—surrounded by towering oaks and long mountain views. A big group can spread out here instead of tripping over each other, while still gathering easily for meals, games, evenings around the fire pit, or sunset on the porch. THE MAIN HOUSE The main house sleeps the core of your crew across three bedrooms: a primary suite with a king bed and spa-style wet room, plus two queen bedrooms and two futons for extra flexibility. The wet room features a freestanding soaking tub and separate rain shower together in one bright, tiled retreat. Two full bathrooms keep morning traffic moving. Floor-to-ceiling windows fill the living room with natural light and frame the wooded surroundings. At its center, a floor-to-ceiling stone fireplace with a new electric insert offers realistic flames at the touch of a remote, with or without heat, and no wood or smoke to deal with. The adjoining dining area is made for shared meals and game nights, and the fully equipped kitchen has what you need for real cooking, including a dishwasher, electric range, drip coffee maker and Keurig, cookware, dishes, and baking basics. One of our favorite spaces is the screened porch overlooking the Smoky Mountains—a feature you won’t find at every mountain cabin. Start the morning here with coffee and the sounds of the woods, gather for an afternoon game or conversation, or settle in as the sun goes down without giving up the fresh mountain air. Front and back decks provide even more outdoor space. The private hot tub sits just steps from the primary bedroom, tucked beneath the trees for a peaceful soak at the end of a day in the Smokies. THE GUEST HOUSE The separate guest house is where the energy lives—and one of the reasons Woodland Respite works so well for families and multi-generational groups. It has its own living and game room with an 85-inch smart TV, 400+ game arcade console, air hockey, and board games for rainy afternoons or late-night tournaments. The bedroom features a king platform bed beneath a custom loft built by a master carpenter, with two extra-long twin mattresses above—a fun sleeping space for kids, teens, or adventurous adults. A full bathroom makes the guest house independent, giving two households or generations their own space while keeping everyone together on the same property. OUTSIDE The two homes share a quiet, wooded backyard with plenty of places to slow down and enjoy the mountain setting. Follow the stone path to a hammock tucked between the trees, gather around the fire pit for marshmallows and late-night conversations, or cook dinner on the private gas grill and eat outside. Guests also have access to the nearby Honeysuckle Meadows seasonal community pool and catch-and-release fishing pond—another way to spend a relaxed day without heading into town.
