For a few days, make our farm your own. Trail's End is a private, bright and airy cabin with the best mountain view of any cabin on our family's 64-acre working horse farm and wedding estate. Enjoy the view from the decks or private hot tub, then come inside to a skylit open king sleeping loft and stacked-stone wood-burning fireplace. Explore horses, trails, the fishing pond and wide-open spaces—all less than 2 minutes from downtown Townsend. The space Trail's End is a private, bright and airy cabin with the best mountain view of any cabin at Country Manor Acres. Set above our lower pastures, the cabin looks across open land toward the Smoky Mountains. You can enjoy that view from the front deck, side deck and private hot tub. Inside, Trail's End has a very different personality from a dark, traditional pioneer-style cabin. A beautiful skylight brings natural light into the open sleeping loft and helps give the cabin the bright, open feeling that has made Trail's End one of our most popular accommodations. Wood interiors and a tall stacked-stone wood-burning fireplace keep the warmth and rustic character of a Smoky Mountain cabin while the skylight and open architecture make the space feel light and airy. THE CABIN The main level includes the kitchen and dining area, full bathroom with tub/shower combination, and an open living area centered around the stacked-stone fireplace. A queen sleeper sofa in the living room provides sleeping space for one child. Above the living area is an open sleeping loft with a king bed. The loft is open to the room below rather than being separated by a conventional bedroom wall and door. A real overhead skylight brings additional natural light into the loft and cabin. Trail's End is intentionally limited to a maximum of two adults, with room for one child on the queen sleeper sofa. The full bathroom is downstairs on the main level. Approximately eight exterior steps lead DOWN from the parking/approach level to the cabin, and an interior staircase leads UP to the king sleeping loft. OUTSIDE Trail's End is very private, with decks that take advantage of what we believe is the best view from any of our cabins. Settle into a rocking chair, look across the lower pastures toward the mountains, or enjoy the same outlook from your private hot tub. But the cabin is only part of what you're staying here for. At Country Manor Acres, we have a different measure of luxury. Some of the most valuable parts of our property are the acres we've chosen not to build on. Our accommodations are intentionally scattered across our family's 64-acre horse farm and wedding estate because we believe open space has value. It gives our horses pasture, our guests room to wander, our children room to explore, and all of us something that's becoming increasingly difficult to find: room to breathe. You'll have heat and air, Wi-Fi, television, an equipped kitchen and private hot tub, along with well-maintained features that continue to serve the cabin beautifully. We don't believe something loses its value simply because something newer has been invented. And beyond your cabin? Sixty-four acres. That's where your stay at Country Manor Acres really begins. Guest access Your cabin is private. The farm is yours to explore. Country Manor Acres is our family's 64-acre working horse farm and wedding estate, and our lodging guests are invited to experience the property rather than simply look at it. Walk the trails through woods and open fields. Wander down to the stables and visit the horses. Meet the animals at the petting farm. Bring a fishing pole to the catch-and-release pond, or take the shared guest boat out on the water with the provided oars and paddles. Explore the gardens. And when the season is right, keep an eye out for wild blackberries, blueberries and mulberries growing around the property. Private guided horseback rides are available for an additional charge by advance appointment, as are horse-drawn wagon and carriage experiences. We intentionally limit the number of rides we offer because we don't believe in overusing our horses—or our land. Our shared estate fire pit near the Country Manor Acres office is also available to lodging guests. Find a seat as evening settles over the farm—the view from there is one of our favorites on the entire property. Country Manor Acres is also a wedding estate, which is one reason so much care goes into preserving the landscape. The fields, gardens and mountain views couples choose for their wedding photographs are the same surroundings our lodging guests get to enjoy every day. Depending on when you visit, you might even look across the farm and catch a glimpse of a wedding taking place on a distant hillside. There is life here, but rarely a crowd. We've intentionally kept the number of accommodations small for 64 acres. You might walk a trail without seeing another person, then meet another family fishing at the pond or enjoying the fire later that evening. It's privacy without isolation. And you don't have to schedule every minute. Watch the horses. Take the boat out on the pond. Walk with nowhere particular to go. Find a rocking chair. Watch the mountains change with the evening light. Then head back to Trail's End, settle into the private hot tub and watch the view across the pastures toward the mountains. After dark, step outside and look up. Away from the glow of the city, clear nights reveal a sky filled with stars—the kind of night sky many of us have almost forgotten exists. All of this is less than two minutes from the restaurants and conveniences of downtown Townsend and just minutes from Great Smoky Mountains National Park. You don't have to go far away to get away. For a few days, this is your farm too. Other things to note Country Manor Acres is a real working horse farm and wedding estate, not a resort built to resemble one. Daily life continues around the property during your stay. You may see horses moving between the stables and pastures, our family working around the farm, children playing, equipment maintaining the property, or a horse-drawn wagon making its way down a gravel road. You may also occasionally look across the property and see a wedding taking place on one of our distant ceremony sites. The same mountain views, fields and carefully maintained landscape that bring couples here are part of what our lodging guests get to enjoy every day. Our roads are gravel, and country life comes with nature. You may encounter insects, wildlife, leaves, pollen, dust, changing weather and the occasional muddy spot after a Tennessee rain. We consider those part of being in the country rather than flaws in the experience. Trail's End combines rustic Smoky Mountain character with a brighter, more open interior. Its wood finishes, open king sleeping loft and stacked-stone fireplace give it warmth, while the overhead skylight brings natural light into the loft and living space. We've updated the things that make a stay comfortable while keeping well-maintained features that continue to serve their purpose beautifully. We don't replace something simply because something newer exists. At Country Manor Acres, we have a different measure of luxury. If your idea of luxury includes 64 acres to explore, mountain views, horses in the pasture, a sky full of stars, room to wander, and a place that hasn't been polished until its character disappeared, you may find that Country Manor Acres offers something much harder to find. Some of the most valuable parts of this property are the acres we've chosen not to build on. Open space isn't wasted space. It's part of the luxury. A few practical notes: • Trail's End is designed for a maximum of 2 adults, with room for 1 child on the queen sleeper sofa. • The king bed is in an open sleeping loft above the living area. • There is no conventional bedroom wall or door separating the loft from the room below. • An interior staircase is required to reach the sleeping loft. • The full bathroom is downstairs on the main level. • Approximately 8 exterior steps lead DOWN from the parking/approach level to the cabin. • No pets, except qualifying service animals. • No guest-hosted parties or events. • No smoking inside the cabin. • Country Manor Acres has other lodging accommodations scattered throughout the estate. And perhaps most importantly: come prepared to slow down a little. That's part of what you're paying for.
