For a few days, make our farm your own. Wrangler's Den is a spacious 4-bedroom log cabin on our family's 64-acre working horse farm and wedding estate in the Smoky Mountains. Enjoy mountain views, horses, trails, a fishing pond and room to wander without the crowds—all less than 2 minutes from downtown Townsend. Then come home to your private hot tub, A/C, Wi-Fi and the comforts that make getting away easy. The space Wrangler's Den is our largest traditional log cabin, with four bedrooms, two full bathrooms, a covered front porch and a private side deck with hot tub, surrounded by the beautiful landscape of Country Manor Acres. But the cabin is only part of what you're staying here for. At Country Manor Acres, we measure luxury a little differently. Some of the most valuable parts of our property are the acres we've chosen not to build on. Our accommodations are scattered across our family's 64-acre horse farm and wedding estate because we believe open space has value. It gives our horses pasture, our guests room to wander, our children room to explore, and all of us something that's getting increasingly difficult to find: room to breathe. Wrangler's Den was built in the 1990s in the tradition of the pioneer cabins found in nearby Cades Cove. The goal was to capture the warmth and character of an earlier Smoky Mountain cabin while providing the comforts of modern life. We've continued that philosophy ever since. You'll find comfortable bedding, central heat and air, Wi-Fi, television, an equipped kitchen and private hot tub, along with some well-kept original fixtures and features that have served the cabin perfectly well for years. We don't believe something loses its value simply because something newer has been invented. MAIN FLOOR One bedroom with a queen bed, plus a full bathroom with a tub/shower combination. The open living area has a stone fireplace, queen futon and sofa, along with the kitchen and dining area. A ramp provides step-free entry into the cabin. UPSTAIRS Three additional bedrooms: • King bed + twin bed + twin trundle • Two queen beds • One queen bed The upstairs full bathroom has a walk-in shower. Wrangler's Den accommodates up to 13 guests. OUTSIDE The covered front porch is a wonderful place to settle into a rocking chair and slow down for a while. Around the side of the cabin, an uncovered deck holds your private hot tub—a perfect place to relax after exploring the farm or spending the day in the Smokies. And beyond the cabin? Sixty-four acres. That's where your stay at Country Manor Acres really begins. Guest access Your cabin is private. The farm is yours to explore. Walk the trails through woods and open fields. Wander down to the stables and visit the horses. Meet the animals at the petting farm. Bring a fishing pole to the catch-and-release pond. Explore the gardens. And when the season is right, keep an eye out for wild blackberries, blueberries and mulberries growing around the property. Private guided horseback rides are available by appointment, as are horse-drawn wagon and carriage experiences. We intentionally limit the number of rides we offer each day because we don't believe in overusing our horses—or our land. Country Manor Acres is also a wedding estate, which is one reason so much care goes into maintaining the landscape. The fields, gardens and mountain views couples choose for their wedding photographs are the same surroundings you'll wake up to each morning. On the right day, you may even look across the farm and catch a glimpse of a wedding taking place on a distant hillside. There is life here, but rarely a crowd. We've intentionally kept the number of accommodations small for 64 acres. You might walk a trail without seeing another person, then meet another family fishing at the pond or enjoying a fire later that evening. It's privacy without isolation. And you don't have to schedule every minute. Let the kids explore. Watch the horses. Find a rocking chair. Take a walk with nowhere particular to go. Experience a gravel road. Watch the mountains change with the evening light. Then, after dark, step outside and look up. Away from the glow of the city, clear nights reveal a sky filled with stars—the kind of night sky many of us have almost forgotten exists. All of this is less than two minutes from the restaurants and conveniences of downtown Townsend and just minutes from Great Smoky Mountains National Park. You don't have to go far away to get away. For a few days, this is your farm too. Other things to note Country Manor Acres is a real working horse farm and wedding estate, not a resort built to resemble one. That means daily life continues around the property during your stay. You may see horses moving between the stables and pastures, our family working around the farm, children playing, tractors or equipment maintaining the property, or a horse-drawn wagon making its way down a gravel road. You may also occasionally look across the property and see a wedding taking place on one of our distant ceremony sites. The same mountain views, fields and carefully maintained landscape that bring couples here are part of what our lodging guests get to enjoy every day. Our roads are gravel, and country life comes with nature. You may encounter insects, wildlife, changing weather, leaves, pollen, dust and the occasional muddy spot after a Tennessee rain. We consider those part of being in the country rather than flaws in the experience. Wrangler's Den was built in the 1990s and intentionally reflects the character of the traditional cabins of this region. We've updated the things that make a stay comfortable while keeping well-maintained original features that still serve their purpose beautifully. We don't replace something simply because something newer exists. If your idea of luxury includes 64 acres to explore, mountain views, horses outside your door, a sky full of stars, room for the kids to roam, and a place that hasn't been polished until its character disappeared, you may find that Country Manor Acres offers something much harder to find. A few practical notes: • Wrangler's Den accommodates a maximum of 13 overnight guests. • No pets, with the exception of qualifying service animals. • No guest-hosted parties or events. • No smoking inside the cabin. • The cabin has step-free entry by ramp, but we do not represent it as fully wheelchair accessible. • Country Manor Acres has other lodging accommodations scattered throughout the estate. And perhaps most importantly: come prepared to slow down a little. That's part of what you're paying for.
