Our lovingly renovated three-bedroom cottage offers space, privacy, and a perfect place from which to explore the Hudson Valley. Enjoy preparing meals in our well-equipped, light-flooded kitchen (seen in many magazines) that overlooks the 250-year old barn, and gather around our outdoor farm-table for a fine meal. Swing in the hammock under the shade of our old crab apple tree and enjoy the shade and privacy of our spacious backyard oasis, complete with fruit trees, lush gardens, a fire-pit and a cozy outdoor living area. Enjoy the quiet hum of crickets and birds as city life melts away. A 10-minute drive to Kingston offers proximity to one of the Hudson Valley's prime farmer's markets, premiere butchers, bakers and cheesemongers along with some of the hottest new restaurants outside of NYC. Enjoy the nightlife, bookstores, bakeries and shopping of charming nearby towns of Woodstock, Saugerties, Rhinebeck, High Falls and Hudson or simply take long, lazy drives down route 209, stopping at the numerous farm stands and U-pick orchards and berry farms along the way. Summer is ripe with flea markets and yard sales along 209 and 28 toward Phoenicia. In the winter, make yourself at home by the fire and head out to the (numerous) nearby ski resorts. Families will enjoy the beautifully appointed "big kid’s" rooms (second floor) and our magical backyard, with plenty of places to climb, hide, swing, and pick berries and more.* If you’re just two, you can enjoy the charm and romance of a house to yourselves (kids games + toys are upstairs, or tucked out of sight, so it’s easy to enjoy an adult sanctuary on the entire first floor, indoors and outdoors). Play the piano, pour a glass of wine or just hunker down with a good book. Just ask and chances are we have just the thing to make our home feel just like yours! We want you to make excellent memories, here. Enjoy!!! Sarah + Andras Guest access You'll likely want a car for your visit to Hurley, though we love the easy walkable streets, and a bike/walking/hiking trail that's accessible right from our home, that takes you south to the forrest (toward Marbletown) and north right into Kingston. Bikes and legs can get you around our tiny town, and but you'll need a car for exploring all the farms and vistas our region has to offer, like Mohonk Mountain, Ashokan Reservoir and more. Other things to note *We rented this house frequently during our kids's baby years. Many of the earliest reviews reflect the ease and comfort of traveling here with young children. As our children are now 10 / 14, our home is no longer tightly baby- or toddler-proofed. It’s easily suitable for newborns and infants in arms, as well as OK for new crawlers--but active toddlers need to be watched very closely for their safety, and to protect the more mature decor we’ve graduated into.
