Welcome to The Cottage! Centrally located in the Verde Valley--18 miles from Sedona, 23 miles from Uptown Sedona and Oak Creek, 26 miles from Jerome, without the crowds! Perfect jumping off point for day trips! There are hiking trails nearby, national monuments, parks to enjoy, Cliff Castle Casino for a night out, and we are a 2 hour drive from the Grand Canyon. It's a good stop-over for travelers "just passing through" as we are conveniently located just 5 minutes from the I-17 freeway. The space Cozy desert cottage located in Lake Montezuma, just a short drive from Sedona, Jerome, and Cottonwood. While not located within Sedona city limits, this space offers a peaceful place to land while still being close to some of the most beautiful areas in Northern Arizona. The cottage is simple, comfortable, and true to the original day-gone-by spirit of Airbnb. It’s not overly modern or polished, but it’s clean, welcoming, and thoughtfully set up for a relaxing stay. Inside, you’ll find a warm and inviting living space with an indoor fireplace—perfect for quiet evenings in. The kitchenette is stocked with the basics, and the space is designed to feel easy and lived-in rather than formal. Outside, guests often enjoy the quiet surroundings, fresh air, and occasional visits from local wildlife like deer and roadrunners. It’s a great place to slow down, have your morning coffee, and unwind after a day of exploring. I’ve been hosting for over a decade and have welcomed guests from all over the country and around the world. I truly enjoy offering a space where people can feel at ease during their stay. I live on the property in a separate space, but your cottage and outdoor areas are private and set up for a comfortable, independent stay. Located in a small, laid-back community, this is a good fit for guests who appreciate a quieter environment and don’t mind being outside of the main Sedona area. It’s a central spot for exploring the Verde Valley while avoiding the crowds. Perfect for solo travelers, couples, or anyone looking for a peaceful, low-key place to recharge. Guest access You will have complete access to the cottage, a small patio, and a small unfenced private yard in front of the cottage. Other things to note The Wifi here is fast but at times can be a bit spotty. Most of the time it’s not an issue, but because of the remote area we live in sometimes service can stop abruptly. This doesn't happen often, but when it does let me know and I will call the service provider and be able to give you a time frame in which to expect it back on. Thanks for your patience! This is an old property built in the 1960's. Because of this, the cottage can be a bit drafty at times. In winter months, I suggest bringing warm clothes to wear and firewood to light up the fireplace and give the room a cozy feel. If you are bringing a dog, you must agree to the following: -Only Dog per stay -Dog must be on a leash at all times when not inside the guesthouse - Dog must not be left unattended for prolonged periods of time -Dog must not be aggressive towards cats or other small dogs (My animals live here on property) -Dog waste must be properly disposed of by the owner
