Hot tub and fire pit deck near downtown

Sliding glass walls open the great room to a covered deck with a fire pit, hot tub, and outdoor kitchen. Inside, a chef's kitchen and long marble island seat the whole group, and an upstairs loft hides a Super Pac-Man arcade and a rooftop terrace in the treetops. Four king suites, each with a private bath. Franklin Barbecue and downtown sit minutes away, yet the oaks make it feel like a quiet retreat. The space DREAM ON A ground-up modern home in Cherrywood where the living room opens to a resort-style deck, minutes from downtown Austin and Franklin Barbecue. Some homes photograph well and live small. This one does the opposite. Dream On is a ground-up modern build on a quiet East-Central Austin street, and its best trick is how completely it opens up. Slide the great-room glass wall aside and the kitchen, the dining table for ten, and the covered pergola deck become one long, connected space, with a gas fire pit, a covered outdoor kitchen, and a hot tub waiting under a canopy of mature oaks. You are five minutes from Franklin Barbecue and downtown, and it still feels like a treehouse. THE HOUSE The main level is a single flowing room finished in stone floors, warm walnut, and white walls, lit by floor-to-ceiling glass on every side. The chef's kitchen sits at one end around a marble waterfall island that seats six, backed by a built-in stainless refrigerator, a gas cooktop, double wall ovens, and a wine refrigerator built into the island. A dining table for ten anchors the center under a linear chandelier, with a wet bar close at hand. A second living room opens beneath floating walnut shelves and a wood-burning fireplace, with its own wet bar and a stone feature wall, giving the group a second place to gather. Upstairs, a loft lounge holds a Super Pac-Man arcade cabinet, a smart TV, and a sofa that folds out to sleep two. Four king suites are spread across both levels, each with its own bath, and the primary adds a rooftop terrace and a spa bath with a soaking tub, a walk-in shower, and a double vanity. THE OUTDOOR LIVING COMPLEX The deck is where this home earns its name. A covered pergola runs off the great room, wrapped in built-in benches around a modern gas fire pit, strung with lights, and shaded by oaks. A covered outdoor kitchen with a grill and sink stands ready a few steps away, and a Bullfrog hot tub anchors its own zone of the composite deck behind a safety fence. A private rooftop terrace lifts you into the canopy, and a fenced backyard with hot tub and fire table rounds out the space below. WHO STAYS HERE Dream On is built for groups of up to ten who want proximity and privacy at once. Wedding parties, family reunions, and friends in town for ACL or SXSW settle in easily here, with four king suites so no one compromises, a living area plus a loft so the group can split up, and an outdoor complex that keeps everyone together when it counts. Families like the fenced yard and the arcade loft; couples traveling together like that every bedroom has its own bath. THE LOCATION The home sits in Cherrywood, one of Austin's most walkable and food-rich neighborhoods, just east of the University of Texas. Franklin Barbecue is 6 minutes away, the Manor Road dining strip and Cherrywood Coffeehouse are within 5, and Mueller Lake Park with its Sunday farmers market is 6 minutes north. Downtown Austin is 10 minutes, the University of Texas and Moody Center are 7 to 8, and Lady Bird Lake, Rainey Street, and 6th Street are all within about 12. Barton Springs Pool is 15 minutes, Circuit of the Americas is 20, the Hancock Center HEB is 5, and Austin-Bergstrom International Airport is 15 minutes out.
