Your hosts live upstairs, so you may occasionally hear our household, despite our best efforts with sound insulation. We’ll see each other in the shared stairwell and laundry room, but your suite is separate enough to have privacy. This configuration is extremely common in Chicago's older homes. Feel free to ask questions if it's new to you. Note that all spaces intended for guest use are shown in the photos. The photos show the space in 2 configurations. For example, they show the table as a kitchen table or a desk, but it’s the same table. Although the suite was recently remodeled, the house is over 135 years old, so you may still encounter a few old house quirks. That said, if you appreciate history and craftsmanship, this is a cozy spot with friendly neighbors. You’re welcome to come upstairs for coffee, conversation, or deliveries. There's no TV, but we have commercial wifi for up to 15 devices, so stream whatever you want. Two friendly cats would love to play with you. If cats aren’t your thing, closing the door to the stairs will keep them out of your space. Traveling with small children? Let us know and we’ll make room for the pack and play. Guest access The rear entrance, laundry, and back yard are shared spaces - gas grill included, just ask for grill tools. Because Chicago is prone to summer storms, we keep the lawn furniture inside when we aren't using it. You are welcome to use it whenever you like, just bring it in when you're done. You can drop bags early or leave them late with prior arrangements. Other things to note You will walk through the laundry area to get to your room. This is an active work area.
