The Awaysis: A Cozy Charleston Getaway

This is our home and we are happy to share it with you! The Awaysis is a custom, elevated cottage situated on 2 acres with expansive tidal creek views. The pictures don't tell the whole story, but we hope they garner your attention enough to give staying here a chance! The huge back yard and porch is great for entertaining or kicking back to watch the infamous cotton candy skies at sunset. Kayaks on site. Walking distance to fishing/crabbing. Permit # ZSTR-01-26-01436 The space This is not a hotel or resort. This is our home and we would like our guests to appreciate and be respectful of that. We are allotted a certain number of nights per year with a permit and we try to offset our expenses for improving the property with the money earned from offering our home to guests. We want our guests to get comfortable here and feel like they are a part of the property and hope it can become a tradition for your family to come back. We do not want to lose the personal connection as it happens in a hotel or other commercially managed properties. While we do try to stream line some things like self check-in/out, providing shampoo, conditioner, and body wash... it isn't free and it doesn't mean you can fill up your personal stash before you leave. Same for the coffee and other food items... Please feel free to use/consume whatever you need while you are here, but don't forget... there is a grocery store less than 10 minutes away, in every direction. And if there is something you feel we should have or offer, shoot us a message or leave us a note so we can get it for the next time. We will always be close by and want nothing more than for you to enjoy your stay! We designed/furnished our home so 2 small families with young children could vacation together. Keep in mind, the floating loft beds are small and not meant for adults. They are intended for children under 12/150lbs. If the number of guests/pets in your reservation is not accurate, it may affect your booking fees. Please double check. You will be responsible for any additional fees prior to check-in or your reservation may be canceled. Also, the property is dog friendly! Although it is deep cleaned after every stay and prior to your arrival, you may find indicators such as fur, scents, or things of that nature. We ask that guests get prior approval for pets and they must be crated or enclosed in the laundry area if not in the presence of their handler. Do not forget to include them in the booking. At $100/stay, our pet fee is one of the lowest around and truly goes towards cleaning and wear and tear costs. Parking: You will have parking for 4 - 6 cars AND we can accommodate a trailer/boat/rv/ w/ house battery charging. (w/prior notice & approval). No parking off driveway. There is a minimum event fee of $250. NO WEDDINGS, PARTIES, OR EVENTS ON PROPERTY WITHOUT PRIOR CONSENT. We've recently acquired a playhouse for our girls that is on the property. It belonged to famed writer and Philanthropist, Margaret Mitchell and was once on the National Historic Register! It is not an amenity intended for guests to utilize at this time, but you are welcome to peek in the windows! Please do not try to gain entry. Guest access Each guest will receive a unique access code to the front door. You can use an app or type the code in during the duration of your stay. Our current check in and out times are at least an hour earlier/later than the majority of stays. If you would like to modify these times, there may be a fee. The entire property is accessible, but the garage really shouldn't be accessed for reasons other than parking(at your own risk). If there's something you need that may be in there, please shoot us a text and we'll point you in the right direction. We prefer not to lock any closets or cabinets, but we may have to in order to ensure the cleaning crew has clean linens and other items for turnover after your departure. We will play it by ear and ensure you have the storage you need! Other things to note Everything is about 2 minutes per mile in the Charleston Area with a 20 minute minimum if more than 3 stop lights are involved... Notable drive times: - 10 min to Golfing on Kiawah and Seabrook Island - 15 min to have your toes in the sand on Kiawah beaches - 15 min to Charleston Municipal Golf Course - 20 minutes to downtown Charleston - 25 min to Mt.
