Honestly one of the best places we have stayed. We spent every evening on the terrace. Don't miss Burial Beer; June pointed us there and it was the best thing we did. Book it.

A timber cabin on a ridge above Black Mountain, 25 minutes east of Asheville, with a wraparound deck, a hot tub and a view that goes seven ridges deep on a clear morning. Three bedrooms, a stone fireplace, a kitchen with a long table and a hammock strung between two oaks. Black Mountain's small town main street is ten minutes down the hill; the Parkway and the trails at Craggy Gardens twenty-five. Sunrise is from the deck with a coffee in one of my mugs. Inside: 3 bedrooms sleeping up to 6 (bedroom 1: 1 queen bed; bedroom 2: 1 double bed; bedroom 3: 1 double bed, 1 single bed) and 2 bathrooms. There is a washer and dryer, a dishwasher, air conditioning in every room and a wood stove, and fast wifi throughout. Check-in is from 4 pm with a keypad on the door; checkout is by 11 am. Parking is free at the house. Well-behaved pets are welcome (2 at most). Quiet hours are 10 pm to 8 am, as the neighbours live here all year. We ask for a minimum of 2 nights.

I throw pots in the River Arts District and keep a few houses in West Asheville and East Nashville, where my sister lives. The mugs are mine, the records are my husband's. We like guests who want to hike in the morning and hear a band at night.

Check-in was smooth and the instructions were clear. You wake up to that view. Enough said. The kitchen is properly equipped, which almost never happens. June's tips were spot on, especially Burial Beer. Would stay again.

Travelled as a family of five; plenty of room for everyone. Good speakers and good books. We stayed in more than we planned. Don't miss Burial Beer; June pointed us there and it was the best thing we did. June was quick to answer and full of good tips.

This cabin understands what a visit to Asheville should feel like. Good desk, fast wifi; I got real work done between outings. Burial Beer, as recommended, was a highlight. Special mention for the sunrise over the ridges from the deck.

I worked from here for 5 days. Fast wifi, a proper chair, good light: everything a laptop week needs. Don't miss Burial Beer; June pointed us there and it was the best thing we did. The second bedroom's mattress is a touch firm. Would happily do another month.
