Waterfront on the Sherman's Creek at the confluence to the Susquehanna River and directly on the Appalacian Trail - Take it easy at this unique and tranquil cottage in the quaint town of Duncannon, PA. Close to Hershey Park, Harrisburg, PA Farm Show Complex, Carlisle, Carlisle Fairgrounds, Lancaster, and Gettysburg! Take a trip into Pennyslvania's Capitol City or spend time in nature hiking to Hawk Rock on the Appalachian Trail or kayaking on the Sherman's Creek. Your options are unlimited! The space The Kottage is 660 square feet total, recently completely renovated inside and out. All new drywall, flooring, lighting, furnace, window air conditioning units, roof, windows, siding, insulation. Kisner's Kottage has been in my direct family since it was built - my grandfather grew up in the "big house" across the street, and moved in here when he married my grandmother in 1945. It was utilized as a rental property from around 1964 until the early 2000's. After breathing new life into the Kottage, I have decided to share it with anyone who wants to visit this quaint Central PA area. The living room has a fold-out couch with a full-sized mattress. The main bedroom boasts a queen size memory foam mattress, and the second bedroom has a traditional inner-spring full-sized bed. There is a full bathtub with shower in the spacious bathroom. Eat-in kitchen, with everything you should need to prepare your favorite meal. There is a washer and dryer onsite and available for your use. The back porch has a gas grill and tiki torches (we are right beside the Shermans Creek which tends to produce some bugs) and a can of bug spray should be in the bathroom closet. There is not an improved path for creek access, but you can venture down at your own risk. We are right where the Shermans Creek flows into the Susquehanna River. Guest access Guests have access to the entire living floor, minus the owner's closet in the main bedroom. Access from the parking area to the front door is via a series of concrete steps or steep grassy hill. Parking is parallel to the neighborhood street - you can easily fit 1 vehicle, it is a squeeze for 2 vehicles; but, there is a public lot at the Hawk Rock Trailhead (you can see the lot from the parking area of the Kottage) that is available for additional vehicles. There is NOT a cleared/improved path down to the water of the Sherman's Creek from the Kottage. If you decide to venture to the water, you do so at your own risk. Other things to note There are multiple (7) concrete steps to get from the street/parking to the house. There is NOT a cleared/improved path down to the water of the Sherman's Creek from the Kottage. If you decide to venture to the water, you do so at your own risk.
