Come stay in our very spacious converted Quaker barn built in 1803 and sitting on 7 idyllic acres! Enjoy the comfort of a 850+ sq ft living loft surrounded by nature on our little farm with only a 15 minute drive or less to the FDR Homestead and Presidential Library, Val-Kill (Eleanor’s Cottage); Vanderbilt Mansion; Culinary Institute of America, Vassar, and Marist. When in season, you can enjoy farm fresh eggs from our chickens and fruit from our orchard. We look forward to welcoming you! The space Enjoy superb locally-sourced restaurants in the area, cook your own meal from ingredients bought at world-renowned local farmer's markets, and explore local wineries and brew pubs in the Hudson Valley. Experience warm, spacious accommodations with 15 ft high ceilings in the loft and 35ft ceilings in the atrium. The barn can sleep five guests with a queen sized bed, pull out couch, and daybed. Take a long soak in the cozy Jacuzzi tub or take a cold plunge in our outdoor “cowboy pool” in the summer. Guest access Our guests will enjoy privacy in the loft located on the top floor of our converted barn and have access to the surrounding grounds. On the patio, you can grill and eat al fresco. You can pick fruit from the orchard or blackberries from bushes on the property when in season. We have walking trails around our private pond and a fire pit with plenty of seating for bonfires, s’mores and stargazing on clear nights. On hot summer days, you can cool off in a galvanized livestock watering tank converted to a filtered soaking pool 8’ diameter x 3’ deep located outside the barn! If available, we would be happy to welcome you and tour the barn and grounds. We live in a separate farmhouse on the property should you need anything, yet far away enough so that you have privacy. Guests may see us feeding our chickens or doing some outdoor property maintenance during the day, but we do our best to give our guests as much space as possible throughout their stay. Other things to note Experiencing real life on this historic 200-year-old farm has some quirks, including the atmospheric sounds of our rooster, some critters like mosquitos, ticks, and bees, as well as some mud when it’s rainy. We do recommend being a pair of rain boots or muck boots in case the weather decides not to cooperate and to utilize the bug spray we provide for guests in the atrium of the barn.
