Waterfront home 12 miles south of Washington, DC

My place is good for couples, adventurers, biz travelers, families (kids over age six), and groups. We regret that we cannot allow you access to the water; the back yard is steep, and walking to the water could be hazardous. The original home structure is available to guests. Four other spaces are only for owner's use: double garage, room above garage, room behind garage, patio. This is the home in which we live, and therefore some of our personal items are inside the house, such as books. The space This is an owner-occupied split-foyer home, on a very quiet cul de sac occupied by some retirees. Three bedrooms, living and dining rooms and kitchen are upstairs. One of those bedrooms is an office, but there is space for an air mattress. Downstairs are family room with two long sofas, three bedrooms, and laundry room. One of the bedrooms is also an office with room for air mattress. We have a large TV, thousands of books, and many games for you to enjoy. The fridge and range are available if you decide to use the kitchen. We have a keurig. Walk up six steps from front door to kitchen, and down six steps to TV, laundry and three more bedrooms. Guest access The six-bedroom home, driveway and large deck are available for guests to enjoy. Some ancillary parts of the property are off limits, such as the garage, work room behind the garage, patio beneath the deck, finished room above garage, and the side and back yards. Since the property is on the water, on a steep slope down to the water, regrettably, we cannot allow guests access to the water or areas adjacent to the water, for insurance/liability purposes. Our view is restful and calming. Other things to note We do not have any pets. Unfortunately, our county only allows us to rent our quiet and ideally located home for sixty days, and to only six guests. Our home is two blocks from the Mt. Vernon bike trail along the Potomac River, and the bus stop to Huntington Metro. We are a mile north of Mt. Vernon estate, and near Ft. Belvoir. This is an ideal situation for people who need temporary housing while seeking a permanent residence, or for interns and others who wish to share space.
