A two-bedroom apartment in a 1970s residence three minutes from the Aiguille du Midi cable car, renovated in wood and wool, with a balcony that faces the Aiguilles de Chamonix and catches the first light. A wood-burning stove, a ski locker in the basement and a covered parking space. Chamonix's bars, shops and the Saturday market are at the end of the street; the valley train and buses to every lift are free with the guest card we leave for you. 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, room for 4. Bedroom 1: 1 queen bed; bedroom 2: 1 double bed, 1 single bed. There is a washing machine, a dishwasher, a proper desk and a fireplace, and fast wifi throughout. In winter the house is warm the moment you walk in. Check-in is from 4 pm with a keypad on the door; checkout is by 10 am. Parking is free at the house. No pets, please. Quiet hours are 10 pm to 8 am, as the neighbours live here all year.

Les Praz is the quiet hamlet just north of Chamonix town, at the foot of the Flégère lift and beside the golf course and the Arve river. Mont Blanc fills the view from the garden. The town centre, with its bars, outdoor shops and the Aiguille du Midi cable car, is a 20-minute walk or three minutes on the free bus.

Third stay. That tells you what you need to know. The balcony view of the Aiguilles at sunrise: that is what we will remember. The bed is extremely comfortable. Lukas is a wonderful host: present when needed, invisible otherwise.

We stayed with our two kids and it worked perfectly. The bed is extremely comfortable. Don't miss the Flégère lift; Lukas pointed us there and it was the best thing we did. Lukas was quick to answer and full of good tips.

I worked from here for 6 days. The desk and the wifi were up to the job. We loved the Flégère lift and fondue at La Calèche, both close by. Check-in instructions came a bit late in the day for us. The best kind of office.
