Very nice house. Everything like in the photos. The neighbourhood is lively, so expect some noise late on Fridays. Thank you!

Our 1850s terrace in De Beauvoir Town, restored over ten years and furnished with the chairs, sideboards and lamps I rescued from house clearances and brought back to life. Three bedrooms over two floors, a bathroom with a cast-iron tub, and a kitchen that opens onto a long garden with a table under the apple tree. The canal towpath is at the end of the road: ten minutes to Broadway Market one way, fifteen to Angel the other. Dalston's bars and the Overground are a five-minute walk. It is a quiet, neighbourly street, with a good pub and a better bakery on the corner. The house sleeps 6 across 3 bedrooms (bedroom 1: 1 queen bed; bedroom 2: 1 queen bed; bedroom 3: 1 queen bed), with 2 bathrooms. There is a washer and dryer, a dishwasher and a proper desk, and fast wifi throughout. Check-in is from 3 pm with a smart lock; checkout is by 11 am. You won't need a car here. Well-behaved pets are welcome (1 at most). Quiet hours are 10 pm to 8 am, as the neighbours live here all year. We ask for a minimum of 3 nights.

Hackney's De Beauvoir Town is a conservation area of Victorian terraces and quiet squares, two minutes from the canal towpath and ten from the bars and restaurants of Dalston and Shoreditch. Broadway Market on Saturday and Columbia Road flower market on Sunday are both a pleasant walk.

I restore mid-century furniture in a workshop under the railway arches in Hackney, which explains the chairs. My wife is from Edinburgh and the two Scottish places are hers, really; I just fixed the floors. We have hosted for ten years and still enjoy it.

A group of friends, a big table and a lot of cooking: this house is built for it. The garden is a real oasis. Special mention for the mid-century chairs Oliver restored himself. Oliver is a wonderful host: present when needed, invisible otherwise.

Travelled as a family of five; plenty of room for everyone. The photos are accurate; if anything it is nicer in person. Oliver told us about Broadway Market and Victoria Park; both were excellent. Oliver left a welcome note and a list of favourites that we used every day.

This house understands what a visit to London should feel like. The kitchen is properly equipped, which almost never happens. Broadway Market, as recommended, was a highlight. The mid-century chairs Oliver restored himself: that is what we will remember.
