A second-floor apartment in a pastel house on Varenna's waterfront walk, with a balcony hanging over the lake and Bellagio across the water. Two bedrooms, a bright living room with the original pebble floor, and a kitchen with a window onto the ferry landing. Varenna is the quieter, more local side of the lake, with a station (Milan in an hour) and ferries to everywhere else. Villa Monastero's gardens are three minutes away; the walk up to the castle at Vezio takes twenty and ends at a glass of wine. The apartment sleeps 4 across 2 bedrooms (bedroom 1: 1 queen bed; bedroom 2: 1 double bed), with 1 bathroom. There is a washing machine, a proper desk and air conditioning in every room, and fast wifi throughout. Check-in is from 3 pm with a lockbox by the door; checkout is by 10 am. You won't need a car here. No pets, please. Quiet hours are 11 pm to 8 am, as the neighbours live here all year.
