A cedar house in the rainforest at the back of Chesterman Beach, with a boardwalk through the salal to the sand, a wall of glass facing the Pacific and a hot tub on the deck for the storms. Three bedrooms, a wood stove, a mudroom with a heated rack for wetsuits, and an outdoor shower. Surf at the beach in front of the house, tide pools at low tide, the Tofino–Ucluelet bike path at the end of the lane. The village (fish tacos, the brewery, the harbour for whale boats) is 5 km; bikes are in the shed. The house sleeps 6 across 3 bedrooms (bedroom 1: 1 queen bed; bedroom 2: 1 queen bed; bedroom 3: 1 double bed, 1 single bed), with 2 bathrooms. There is a washer and dryer, a dishwasher, a wood stove and an EV charger, and fast wifi throughout. Check-in is from 4 pm with a keypad on the door; checkout is by 11 am. There is off-street parking for your car. Well-behaved pets are welcome (2 at most). Quiet hours are 10 pm to 8 am, as the neighbours live here all year. We ask for a minimum of 3 nights.

Chesterman Beach is Tofino's long crescent of sand between the rainforest and the open Pacific, 5 km south of the village. Surfers at both ends, tide pools at low tide, storm watching from November to February, and the Tofino–Ucluelet bike path at the end of our lane.

ER nurse, Kitsilano local, Tofino addict. The beach houses out there are where we spend every week off. Things are practical in my places: a drying rack for wetsuits, a first aid kit that is actually stocked, blackout blinds, decent knives. I answer messages on my breaks.

Travelled as a family of five; plenty of room for everyone. We ended every night in the hot tub. We loved Tacofino's original truck and the Hot Springs Cove boat trip, both close by. Emma is a wonderful host: present when needed, invisible otherwise.

I worked from here for 9 days. The desk and the wifi were up to the job. Don't miss Tacofino's original truck; Emma pointed us there and it was the best thing we did. Good desk, fast wifi; I got real work done between outings. The best kind of office.

A group of friends, a big table and a lot of cooking: this house is built for it. Beach in the morning, beach in the evening; it was that kind of week. Our favourite thing was storm watching from the hot tub. Communication with Emma was effortless.

Honestly one of the best places we have stayed. The wifi held up for a week of video calls. Tacofino's original truck, as recommended, was a highlight. Check-in instructions came a bit late in the day for us. Highly recommended.
