Graça is the hill above Alfama, and this apartment's terrace is the reason to stay there: thirty square metres of terracotta looking across the castle walls to the river and the bridge, with a table for eight, a small grill and a shower for hot days. We eat every meal out here from April to October. Inside, two calm bedrooms (a king and two singles that join), a living room with the original 1950s terrazzo floor, and a kitchen we fitted for people who actually cook. The miradouro at the top of the street is where the neighbourhood watches the sunset; you will have the same view from your own chair. Inside: 2 bedrooms sleeping up to 4 (bedroom 1: 1 queen bed; bedroom 2: 1 queen bed) and 1 bathroom. There is a washing machine, a dishwasher and air conditioning in every room, and fast wifi throughout. Check-in is from 3 pm with a smart lock; checkout is by 11 am. There is no parking at the door; we don't recommend bringing a car. Well-behaved pets are welcome (1 at most). Quiet hours are 11 pm to 8 am, as the neighbours live here all year.
