A whole 1890s house on a side street of Príncipe Real, Lisbon's leafiest square, restored over two years with the plasterwork, the stair and the tall windows kept and everything behind the walls replaced. Three floors: living and kitchen opening onto the garden, two bedrooms and a bath above, and the main suite under the roof with its own terrace. The garden is the heart of it: a lemon tree, a stone table, a shower against the wall for after the beach. The square's antique market is on Saturdays, the Botanical Garden is around the corner, and Bairro Alto's bars are five minutes downhill (and far enough away that you won't hear them). The house sleeps 6 across 3 bedrooms (bedroom 1: 1 queen bed; bedroom 2: 1 double bed; bedroom 3: 1 double bed, 1 single bed), with 2 and a half bathrooms. There is a washer and dryer, a dishwasher, a proper desk and air conditioning in every room, and fast wifi throughout. Check-in is from 4 pm with me or someone from the family; checkout is by 11 am. There is no parking at the door; we don't recommend bringing a car. No pets, please. Quiet hours are 10 pm to 8 am, as the neighbours live here all year.
