The space Welcome to our historic Tybee Island beach cottage, originally built around 1910 and nestled beneath one of Tybee’s magnificent Live Oak trees. Surrounded by palms and coastal gardens, this home offers a glimpse of Old Tybee that is becoming increasingly rare. Inside, you’ll find original knotty pine walls and floors, a vintage porcelain kitchen sink, and many furnishings and treasures collected from historic Tybee beach homes over the years. By staying here, you’re helping preserve a small piece of Tybee Island history for future generations. For your comfort and enjoyment: • Enjoy our extensive library of books gathered for guests over many years. • The property is professionally treated each month for mosquitoes and pests by local service companies to help keep both the home and outdoor spaces comfortable year-round. • The heated pool is professionally maintained and serviced weekly. Pool heat is available for an additional $25 per night. Simply let me know before your stay, and I can arrange it through Airbnb. • Tybee Island’s water supply meets or exceeds all federal and state drinking water standards, so the water is safe to drink, cook with, and enjoy throughout your stay. • The home is cleaned and prepared by the wonderful team at Tybee Toxic Free Cleaning Company. For everyone’s safety and enjoyment, guests are asked to sign a simple rental agreement through DocHub before arrival. This agreement includes important information regarding use of the pool, hot tub, and sauna, along with helpful details about the property. I’ll send the agreement to the email address associated with your Airbnb reservation. A few days before arrival, you’ll receive a welcome email with your lockbox code, arrival instructions, local updates, and a list of my favorite Tybee restaurants and hidden gems. Guest access Guests have exclusive use of all ground-level living areas, the pool, hot tub, sauna, screened porch, patios, and all front and back outdoor spaces. The upstairs area is never occupied while vacation rental guests are staying at the property. Although a portion of the upstairs is reserved for family use, family members are not permitted to stay or visit whenever the home is occupied by guests. Your privacy is important, and the property is yours to enjoy during your stay. Parking for two vehicles is available directly on front of your door the making arrival and unloading easy. Self check-in is provided through a lockbox located on the post to the left of the front door. A few days before arrival, I’ll send your welcome email with the lockbox code, check-in instructions, and the latest Tybee recommendations so everything is current and up to date. Other things to note 🚰 Tybee Island’s drinking water meets or exceeds all federal and state safety standards and is safe to drink, cook with, and enjoy throughout your stay. ❄️ HVAC Information This home features a Mitsubishi HVAC system installed in 2022. During periods of extreme summer heat, air conditioning systems in coastal Georgia may not cool indoor temperatures more than approximately 20 degrees below the outdoor temperature. Please keep doors and windows closed while the AC is operating for maximum comfort and efficiency. 🌴 A Note About Staying in an Historic Tybee Cottage This beach house was originally built around 1910 and is one of the increasingly rare historic cottages that give Tybee Island its unique character. While thoughtfully updated with modern amenities, it retains the charm and personality of Old Tybee that so many guests love. 🦟 Mosquito Control The yard is professionally treated by Mosquito Joe, and the City of Tybee Island also conducts mosquito control efforts throughout the island. As with any coastal destination, occasional mosquitoes may still be present, particularly after rain. 🏊 Pool Information The pool is professionally serviced twice weekly. Surrounded by beautiful Live Oaks and palm trees, occasional leaves or natural debris may fall into the pool area, especially after coastal winds or summer storms. Every effort is made to have the pool and grounds clean and ready for your arrival. 🚿 Bath Facilities The home includes one full bathroom inside. Guests also enjoy a private outdoor hot-water shower and a poolside bath area with toilet and sink. 🐾 Dog-Friendly Property Dogs are welcome. • First dog: $210 per stay • Please inquire about fees for additional dogs. • Dogs must be crated if left unattended. • Please keep pets out of the pool. • Pet towels, furniture covers, feeding station, and a fenced yard are provided for your convenience. • Please use the provided covers wherever pets rest and help remove pet hair before departure so we can continue offering this home as a dog-friendly property.
